We have an exciting position available for someone with a passion for community to engage and involve our residents in a range of activities and projects. The Community Engagement Officer is a role that will work with teams and staff from across Council to support and facilitate consultation activities for a variety of projects.

About the role:
As part of the Communications Team, you will work closely with the Community Engagement Specialist and internal teams to support the delivery of Community Engagement initiatives and campaigns. You will support teams to facilitate group discussions relating to Community Engagement activities and assist with the delivery of workshops as required.
The right applicant will have experience delivering Community Engagement programs and recognise the importance of data collection and analysis to drive decisions of the future.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant or related tertiary qualification or job-related experience.
- Good understanding of best practice Community Engagement principles and methodology.
- Demonstrated experience developing Community Engagement plans including a variety of innovative engagement methods to reach a diverse community.
- Demonstrated experience creating effective and engaging surveys.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in writing for and using digital platforms including online Community Engagement platforms to effectively engage with the community.
- Passion for the community and community-related activities.
- High level written and verbal communication skills, preferably with a communications background.
- Commitment to living our values of respect, integrity, trust, teamwork and optimism.
