About the organisation
Breast Cancer Care WA (BCCWA) is a WA charity funded entirely through donations and fundraising in the community. We provide personalised services such as specialist breast care nursing, counselling, and practical and financial support to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer in WA, for as long as they need it – free of charge.

As a valued member of the Marketing team at Breast Cancer Care WA, the Marketing and Social Media Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to become everyone in Western Australia’s Breast Cancer Support Service, by developing and implementing effective Social Media and PR strategies and providing support to the wider marketing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting our organisation, increasing engagement, and raising awareness about breast cancer and our services.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
- Develop, execute, and manage Social Media strategies across multiple platforms.
- Create compelling content to inspire and inform our community.
- Foster connections and positive dialogue online.
- Use insights and analysis to continuously enhance our digital presence.
- Collaborate closely with our team to weave Social Media seamlessly into broader campaigns.
- Stay attuned to the latest trends to keep our messaging fresh and relatable.
PR and Media Relations:
- Cultivate relationships with media outlets and influencers to amplify our message.
- Share our stories through impactful press releases and interviews.
- Keep a watchful eye on media coverage and lend a hand during challenging times.
Marketing Support:
- Assist in shaping and executing meaningful marketing campaigns.
- Ensure our materials reflect our mission with warmth and authenticity.
- Support fundraising endeavors with creativity and enthusiasm.
- Share our journey through newsletters, emails, and press releases.

Essential
- Proven experience in Social Media management, digital marketing, and public relations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Social Media analytics tools, content creation software, and media relations.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing trends, tools, and platforms in the digital landscape.
- Ability to craft compelling press releases, articles, Social Media posts and other various written content
- Proven ability to handle PR crises and navigate sensitive situations on behalf of the organisation.
- A network of media contacts and the ability to build and maintain relationship with journalists and influencers is desirable
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Passion for BCCWA’s mission and values of the breast cancer not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders.
