Your opportunity
The Marketing team is about creating the ultimate shopping experience for our customers delivering exceptional experiences every day. As theMarketing Executive at Westfield Manukau, you will support the Marketing Team to deliver best in class executions of marketing strategies, in addition to driving superior centre performance.
In this busy and challenging role, you’ll work alongside the Marketing team on marketing strategy, events and communications, as well as play a key role in the broader Customer Experience Team.
This role is being offered as a 12-month parental leave contract commencing at the end of March 2024, and is based at Westfield Manukau.
Day to day, your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)
- Bring to life key centre campaigns from conception to execution (including timelines and budgets), with a focus on kids & family, lifestyle and cultural events, in conjunction with the Marketing Manager. Key moments in the Manukau calendar include (but are not limited to); Matariki, Lunar New Year, School Holidays, Autumn and Spring fashion and Christmas.
- Developing and executing local implementation of the digital strategy to deliver customer-focused needs across owned, earnt and bought channels in conjunction with the Marketing Manager
- Providing inputs for the centres Marketing Plan with a focus on retail energy, and local priorities and pillars/programs, so that budget and resource can be aligned with the Customer Experience Strategic Focus and Strategic Asset Plans.
- Assisting with the preparation and management of the annual centre Marketing income and expense budget, including sourcing quotes, creating purchase orders, generating accruals, processing invoices and reforecasting.
- Working effectively with agencies and external suppliers to deliver quality creative assets and services on time and on budget.
- Gaining an understanding of customer needs by analysing insights, listening tools, and researching data
As a part of our centre management team, you’ll also have Duty Management responsibilities from time to time, where you’ll be required to work a weekend shift (on a roster), which will be balanced with a day off in lieu.
- The Duty Manager assumes responsibility for the Chief Warden during an emergency and provides leadership across the centre teams to ensure delivery of an exceptional Customer Experience and to provide a safe and secure environment.
What will set you apart from the rest?
You will be a confident and passionate self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a high performing culture. We are also looking for:
- 2-3 years of demonstrated experience within a marketing role, where you've had exposure to brand management, digital and social media, event management, and public relations.
- You have an analytical way of thinking and you’re able to interpret data and tell the story.
- Being a collaborator, you will work closely with the wider Marketing team across the portfolio.
- Experience within retail will be beneficial and a qualification in Marketing or a related field, would be preferable, but not essential.
- Ability to make decisions, be accountable, meet/exceed goals and achieve high-quality results.
- Someone who has a customer centric mind-set and puts the customer at the heart of all decisions.
- Skills – communication, brand management, customer experience/guest services, digital and social, media and PR, event management, research and analysis, negotiating.
- Attention to detail and excellence in execution.
- Ability to adapt to a 7 day a week dynamic environment.
