Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off
Reporting to: Supervisor - Underground Electrical Supervisor

About the Role:
The role of the MHS Operator - Underground Ore Handling is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Underground Crusher, Rock breaker and Material Handling System.
Experience operator in Processing, Mining, Plant Operations or other industries that requires a high standard in housekeeping and take pride in the workplace who delivers a range operations and housekeeping within the Material Handling System (MHS) to the BHP Carrapateena Mine Site.
The provision of work shall include both ongoing, day-to-day operational requirements including both day and night shift.
The Scope of Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
- Housekeeping of the MHS system
- Conveyor belts
- Scrapers
- Skirting
- Chutes
- Walkways
- Rollers & frames
- Removal of metal from the MHS system
- Operations of the service truck
- Operations of the Integrated Tool Carrier
- Confine Space Sentry
Experience in Mining, Processing, Plant Operations
- Proven ability to be adaptable to challenging working environments
- Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to new technology concepts.
- Prepared to work for prolonged periods underground
- Maintain high standard in housekeeping and take pride in workspace
- Proactive, self-starter with strong communication skills
- Develops trust and confidence within the team
- Safety orientated with sound OH&S awareness
- Overcomes difficulties to achieve positive outcomes • Fast thinking and able to concentrate in a dynamic environment
- Ability and willingness to perform isolations
- Essential - Manual Light Vehicle (LV), Forklift (LF)
- Desirable - Integrated Tool Carrier (IT), Heavy Rigid Truck (HR), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Dogging (DG), Confine space
