Material Handling / Yard Hand

Based in the Northern Regions of South Australia, Gadaleta Steel Fabrication delivers projects for clients across the infrastructure, mining and industrial sectors.

We are a Structural/Mechanical and Crane Hire business providing a full range of steel fabrication, procurement, project construction/maintenance solutions and crane hire to clients.

With our new steel processing equipment now commissioned and operating we have the need for a full-time experienced Material Handling person.
 

Full-time, Permanent position available for a

 Material Handling / Yard Hand

to work in our Whyalla branch

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage the incoming inspection of materials and goods
• Loading and unloading of material from transport 
• Movement of material (Steel members around the workshop and yard)
• General workshop duties as directed
• Picking, packing and despatch of goods
• Use forklift/machinery to move goods
• Workshop housekeeping
• Liasing with operations manager and workshop supervisors 

Requirements:

• Forklift licence
• Current driver’s licence
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills
• Have a ‘Safety First’ attitude
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment medical
• No FIFO

Experience in loading trucks using both forklift and overhead crane will be highly regarded.
