About the role

The City of Greater Dandenong currently has an opportunity for an innovative and dynamic Maternal and Child Health Nurse to join our Team.
We are centrally located in Southeast Victoria, providing a range of Maternal and Child Health services to a community that is diverse in both culture and lived experience.
The main focus of staff employed will be the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program providing:
- Work in partnership with families to assess their needs and meet their goals, using a child centred, Maternal and family focussed model
- Respond to families in a respectful strengths based manner and maintain privacy in line with relevant legislation
- Provide information and support to parents on the health, development, growth and behaviour of children 0-3years, including anticipatory guidance
- Provide outreach services to families in a variety of setting which may include, but not be limited to the clients home, the local MCH centre or Community centre.
- Work collaboratively with other service providers such as GP’s, Paediatric Services, Maternity Services, The Orange Door, Child Protection and Family Services to support best outcomes for families and Children
- Provide care coordination where necessary
- Comply with all legislative, DFFH Child Safe Standards, FVISS, CISS, DFFH Child Protection protocols and requirements, in conjunction with Team Leader(s) when a notification is required.
About you
We are seeking successful applicants that have:
- An innovative approach to engagement of families
- Knowledge of child development
- A flexible approach to service delivery.
The successful applicants will hold role specific qualifications and registration as a Division 1 Nurse, along with Midwifery endorsement and Maternal and Child Health qualifications and have specialist knowledge and experience working with families with children 0-school age.
