The CTO Office performs a critical function within KPMG, with the task of ensuring that our technology services development and technology delivery engagements meet the high-quality standards required for our clients. The CTO office collaborates with other KPMG service lines, supporting and overseeing complex technology service planning, development, and delivery. Contributing insights, standards and best practices to ensure that KPMG technology engagements meet the highest quality standards and deliver expected client outcomes.

The CTO Office is seeking Lead Architects that have a range of experience, technical knowledge, and motivation to develop their architecture capabilities in this challenging technology role. You may have expertise within one or more technology capabilities including technology architecture, governance, risk management, stakeholder management, partner engagement, commercial acumen and benefits realisation. With some experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholder teams in the development of technology services and delivery programs.

Your Opportunity

As a Lead Architect you will play a critical role within the CTO Office, working with a Chief Architect to collaborate on, support and govern technology delivery activities within KPMG. Contributing your time and expertise in technology architecture to support different KPMG teams to understand client issues, explore potential solutions and develop new service offerings. You will also support the oversight and review of client engagements to ensure that they meet the required standards for architecture, delivery, and risk management throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.

In your role, you will:
  • Support the objectives of the CTO Office, to provide a technology centre of excellence supporting the development, sales, and delivery of KPMG technology services.
  • Support a Chief Architect in the planning and development of technology services within a sector, working with a range of sector and service line leads to ensure that our services address client needs.
  • Collaborate with KPMG technology teams and partners to design and refine KPMG technology, solutions, and services.
  • Support KPMG technology teams on sales and client engagement pursuits, ensuring that solutions meet client's objectives and align with KPMG standards.
  • Support oversight of technology transformations and transitions to ensure successful outcomes for KPMG and clients.
  • Participate in the CTO Office review of technology designs for engagement pursuits, solution designs, architecture delivery practices and implemented solutions.
  • Support KPMG client engagements to establish and operate effective technology design authority governance practices.
Your Experience

  • Experience in an architecture role such as an Program Architect, Solution Architect, Domain Architecture, or similar role that takes responsibility for architecture delivery.
  • Experience in a technology solution delivery role within a large client organisation or Systems Integrator.
  • Your experience as an architecture SME could include:
  • Understanding of the Solution Delivery Lifecycle for complex business and technology transformation programs.
  • Experience in supporting the planning and delivery of complex technology implementation programs.
  • Some experience with Enterprise Architecture and architecture governance practices such as management of architecture processes, principles & standards, administration of design authorities and assurance of architecture designs.
  • Architecture experience with solution design for an organisations core business application(s), including application in Front/Mid/Back Office.
  • Plus experience with other technology domains such as:
  • Cloud, Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Integration, Identity, Data, Digital, Automation etc.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in collaboration, communication and stakeholder management with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong business domain knowledge and experience working with within one or more client sectors such as:
  • Public Sector - Including Government, Healthcare and/or Education
  • Energy, Utilities and Mining
  • Corporates - Including Telecoms, Media, Manufacturing
  • Financial Services - Including Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management
  • An interest and view of sector, technology and architecture trends, practices challenges and opportunities will be valuable.
  • Appropriate Tertiary qualification(s) (preferably Information systems, Commerce, Technology or Business Administration); plus architecture certification(s) such as TOGAF.
