Whales Regional Workforce is seeking 50 Meat Process Workers to commence in April 2024 at a Meat Processing facility in Smithton, Tasmania. These positions may be a good fit for those who are:

Meat Process Workers are part of a team responsible for managing the livestock slaughtering process, boning, cutting, packaging and preparing the meat for sale. Working in Meat Processing means you will be in a fast paced team environment where the work can be physically demanding and repetitive. Duties may include:
• Processing meat, offal and tripe
• Moving carcasses to chillers and freezers
• Loading meat products into trucks
• Packing boned and sliced meat into cartons
• Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas
These positions are full time and successful applicants will be offered a minimum of 38 ordinary hours per week. Pay and employment conditions are as per the Meat Industry Award 2020. The job has the potential to upskill and training will be provided.
These labouring roles are entry level. Experience in this field of work is beneficial, however is not required as training will be provided. All employees must have received or be willing to receive Q-Fever immunisation and be willing to undertake pre-employment medicals (drug screen, hearing, hand test etc).
