Based at our Dandenong workshop, we are seeking a Leading Hand Mechanic to guide, mentor and train our apprentices for the afternoon shift.
As a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice Leading hand, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of skilled mechanics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Training and Mentoring
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to apprentice mechanics.
- Carry out technical diagnosis and guidance in repairs.
- Share your expertise in diesel engine maintenance and repair techniques.
- Foster a learning environment that promotes skill development and growth.
- Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and adheres to industry best practices
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to maintain service excellence
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to address any quality issues
- Collaborate with team members to enhance overall workshop efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with apprentices, fellow mechanics, and workshop management
- Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on training and mentoring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and related systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the job
- Willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
