Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Client's team in their Revesby Office in NSW on a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential for an extension.

Your duties will include, but not limited to:

• Develop and design a proprietary underground dewatering pump station
• Conduct analysis and simulations to validate design concepts
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to review design requirements
• Create technical documentation and reports
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices

Tickets & Licences

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or proven experience in mechanical engineering

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Mechanical Design of pump systems, especially in the context of dewatering (highly desirable)
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics
• Understanding of the challenges of underground mines
• The ability to conduct thorough patent research and be familiar with patent databases and have experience ensuring that the proposed design is not infringing on existing patents 
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Creativity is key in designing proprietary equipment so you will need to think outside the box and produce innovative solutions t o design challenges
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and office suites
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
