Specifically, your duties will include –
- Undertake the role of Mechanical Designer, applying technical knowledge in water & wastewater planning & design, utilising design aids such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D & Navisworks.
- Produce designs, reports, specifications, and drawings to ensure that appropriate solutions have been developed & engineering judgements recorded.
- Assist with the preparation of quantity & cost estimates for project planning, development, & construction phases.
- Collaborate with project teams, seeking/providing guidance from more experienced team members.
- Provide internal guidance to less experienced team members.
- Liaise with Project Managers/Project Technical Leads to keep informed of the timing, costs & any other pertinent issues relating to assigned tasks.
- Maintain communication & develop ongoing contacts with clients as required.
- Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality, Safety & Environment Systems and Project Quality Procedures
- Minimise & control risk by commitment to the Stantec Quality, Health & Safety programs & ensuring proactive use of our project management systems.
- Exercise independent judgement in selecting & interpreting information when applied to design.
- Work under moderate supervision & receive general instructions on new assignments.
- Other duties as reasonably required.
About you
To be successful you will display –
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or TAFE qualification with significant relevant professional experience
- Sound experience (5-10 years) in multi-disciplinary mechanical / civil / structural design drafting
- Strong foundation of technical knowledge in the use of design software aids & drawing management software.
- Well-developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve queries.
- Highly adaptable and responsive with the ability to create unique solutions.
Competent technical writing ability. - Plant3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks software experience.
- Understanding of Revit, Civil 3D would be of benefit.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Crime Police check.
