About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to join our team. As a Mechanical Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of mechanical components and systems. You will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers and designers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical principles, proficiency in CAD software, and excellent communication skills.
Your role will involve, but is not limited to:
· Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and objectives.
· Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for mechanical components and systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
· Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations, as well as company guidelines.
· Review and interpret rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other data to assess design feasibility and requirements.
· Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback from engineers, designers, or clients.
· Generate bill of materials (BOM) and assist in material procurement processes.
· Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
· Collaborate with other departments, such as manufacturing and quality assurance, to ensure successful project completion.
· Stay updated on advancements in CAD technology and industry best practices.
· Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve designs and processes.
About You:
· Associated degree or certification in drafting, mechanical engineering, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
· Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
· Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
· Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and interpreting technical drawings.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
· Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and drafting.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design issues.
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software.
