This is an exciting role that requires the successful candidate to hit the ground running. Knowledge of SolidWorks and its use within a manufacturing environment is pivotal to the success of the role.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties, including (but not limited to):
- Building SolidWorks models that match manufacturing processes and incorporate common components used in multiple builds.
- Assessing current SolidWorks files and creating a file management and numbering system that conducive to the current production environment.
- Create 2D and 3D Drawings from design brief or adjusting existing designs to suit manufacturing conditions.
- Create detailed designs in SolidWorks of our standard parts and product range.
- Understand the difference between in context components and standard components with no external references.
- Preparing production ready 3D models and produce 2D documentation from those models with all the necessary details required for production, inclusive of manufacturing and welding annotations.
- Liaise with the Fabrication Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager and understand the manufacturing processes.
- Preparing technical drawings and 3D representations of products.
- Learning our wide range of products and services.
- Other office duties if and when required.
The successful candidate should possess:
- Excellent SolidWorks skills and incorporating sensible robust systems in which it will operate.
- Understanding the use of SolidWorks file properties and make use of them within the SolidWorks parts and assemblies so that drawings and bills of materials contain all the necessary production in information linked back to dimensional data in the models.
- An understanding of electrical layouts and some experience with AutoCAD
- Design for manufacturing with final file delivery.
- Mechanical or Fabrication trade background preferred
- Microsoft software.
- A 'can do' attitude, with drive and ambition
- A professional and friendly phone manner
- Time management skills
