Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Brisbane, 20 minutes from the CBD
Contract length: 6 months

Our diverse offerings include electric and hybrid solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact, supporting renewable energy, and aiding in material recovery from waste. With manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, our products are sold worldwide, and we provide comprehensive support throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new products following the New Product and Process Development process.
- Manage Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects to meet safety and performance standards.
- Ensure mechanical designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Create detailed design drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation.
- Test and validate mechanical systems on prototypes for performance and safety.
- Prepare project status reports for senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other engineering disciplines.
- Investigate failures and conduct root cause analysis.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing and after-market service teams.
- Work with supply chain management to source new components.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of related industry experience.
- Proficiency in NX or similar CAD tools.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Design knowledge of mechanical, structural, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Exposure to heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a focus on customer results.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Highly Valued Experience:
- Mechanical design knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, electrical control systems, etc.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
- Automotive or crane design experience.
- Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP, DVP&R processes.
- Ability to use FEA software.
- Experience in a manufacturing workshop environment.
- Knowledge of relevant plant design and verification regulations.
