Duties Required In This Role
- Coordinate with Operations Leadership to plan tasks and ensure technical precision
- Act as the primary technical contact for operations teams
- Work with both internal and external engineering teams
- Handle vendor communications to resolve technical issues
- Offer technical advice on process, mechanical, and structural tasks
- Perform site inspections and support offsite capital projects
- Update design drawings to reflect site changes
- Assist in procuring materials and equipment while ensuring compliance
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including obligations for classified plants
- Plan and execute all activities with a focus on safety
- Create preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all machinery
- Schedule maintenance activities to minimize operational disruption
- Diagnose mechanical failures to identify root causes
- Analyze equipment performance to forecast potential failures and plan component replacements
- Supervise and lead maintenance work by technicians and engineers
- Ensure maintenance and repairs adhere to technical specifications and safety standards
- Manage the inventory of spare parts and components needed for maintenance and repairs
- Ensure critical components are available to prevent extended downtime
- A minimum of 5 years of experience delivering day to day maintenance enigneering within a brownfield open cut coal mining environment
- Have a tertiary qualification in an Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience with mobile maintenance (ideal)
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Project
- Experience in similar mining equipment and/or Plant Maintenance role
- Strong communication skills, excellent organisational and time management skills
- An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities
- Actively investigate enhancements to procedures and processes that achieve improvements in performance, safety, job satisfaction and productivity
