Role Description -
As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineering technician with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in the field of pressure vessel, piping, and storage tanks within the resources, sulphuric acid and petrochemical sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities -
• Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose problems with mechanical equipment.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems.
• Create and update technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success and safety compliance.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate activities and facilitate effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
• Proven experience within the resources and petrochemical industries.
• Sound knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, standards, and practices, with a focus on pressure vessel, piping, storage tanks, and structural components.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with demonstrated experience managing complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Familiarity with Quality System ISO9001:2015 standards and procedures is advantageous.
