Mechanical Fitter & Boilermakers / Welders

Our client is currently looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters and Boilermaker/Welders to join their ever growing maintenance team in Altona.

These positions are initially temporary/contract with a view to permanency for the right people.

Your main task will involve structural steel, welding, shape and fabricate parts, grinding, cutting, polishing, cropping, pressing, and heat treatment. In this role, it is critical that you maintain a safety focus with a high attention to detail to abide safety processes.

You would ideally have the following experience:

• Experience heavy diesel motors (Caterpillar, Cummins, Mercedes preferred)
• Heavy vehicle transmission
• Fitting/machining
• Welding/fabrication
• Hydraulic controls
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts and overtime if required

Additional requirements and information:

• Workshop based in Altona but will be required to deploy to Melbourne Ports
• Attractive hourly rates, $50 per hour, plus overtime.
• Mechanical or BMW trades certificate
• Current drivers' licence
• High risk licence for Forklift and Elevated Platform work
• Maritime and Security Identification card (MSIC)
• Heavy Vehicle/Plant Diesel Experience
• Hydraulic Experience
• Immediate start
