THE ROLE
As a Mechanical Fitter within the Ground Support Equipment division, you'll be responsible for fitting and assembling ferrous and non ferrous parts, subassemblies to assembling special purpoase machinery and hydraulic lifting equipment. Other key responsibilities include:
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
- Checking fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Testing, dismantling, assessing, measuring and assembling hydraulic lifting equipment
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, lifting equipment, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill supplied materials
ABOUT YOU
We're seeking a candidate with solid knowledge of production processes, equipment operations, and meticulous attention to detail. As a successful applicant looking for a long-term commitment, you should possess the following skills and qualities:
- Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or Australian Recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate
- Proficiency in understanding hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and components
- Have a current drivers licence (MUST) and also forklift licence (IDEAL)
- Capacity to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Physically fit
- Able to travel by car or air travel for onsite work
