Are you a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, seeking to transition away from full-time hands-on work while still receiving a tradesman's salary?

About Us Destec is a proudly Western Australian owned and operated company with a fast-growing client base that provides ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia. We take pride in innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. We provide ore processing and materials handling services to the Tier 1 mining industry across Western Australia.
Role Are you a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, seeking to transition away from full-time hands-on work while still receiving a tradesman's salary? We are looking for experienced Trade Persons who are willing to utilize their expertise not only within their trade but also working in the capacity of a Mobile Plant Operator. Flexibility and willingness to work across both roles as needed are essential for this position.
These roles will be offered on a 2:1 roster, with requirement to work both days & nights, on a permanent salary of $179 200 per annum.
Requirements
  • Worked Mechanical Fitter and preformed duties within mining industry for at least 2 years post apprenticeship.
  • Australian recognised trade qualification
  • Valid driver's licence (preferably HR or above)
  • Experience and/or ticket in Front End Loader (CAT988)
  • Working at Heights Ticket (within 2 years)
  • Confined Space (within 2 years)
  • Gas Test Atmosphere (within 2 years)
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience and tickets in ancillary equipment such as Bobcats, Telehandlers and EWP
  • Experience and ticket in Excavator / Rockbreaker
  • High Risk Licenses - CB, LF, RB, DG
