About our Client
Using state of the art equipment from New Zealand, Japan, Finland and Germany, our Client manufactures high-quality laminated veneer lumber beams and other LVL products. Their LVL is a high-value engineered wood product made from renewable, sustainably sourced timbers under a 50-year agreement between them and the Western Australian State Government. Their growing range of LVL products is designed to span further, carry greater loads and withstand the tough Australian climate.
About the Role
As part of a team, you will be given a fantastic opportunity to work within a large-scale production environment. The plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and your focus will be on operating safely within a high-risk environment to maintain, install and rectify our plant and equipment on-site. We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the maintenance team working 4X 12-hour days per week (Monday to Friday). You will be provided with ongoing training and development. The opportunity is open to more recently qualified candidates with less experience, who possess a desire to learn and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Regularly maintaining plant and equipment.
- Rectifying breakdowns within a timely manner.
- Diagnosing issues using critical and logical thinking.
- Equipment installation and fabrication.
- Using SAP computer systems where necessary.
- Flexibility to be available for on-call work when required.
About you
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years prior experience in Mechanical Fitter operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment, hold a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification, be adaptable, self-motivated, have a desire to reach their goals, and can work safely and effectively with others to achieve great results.
You will have, or be able to demonstrate :-
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitter (Australian standard).
- Minimum of 2 years fixed plant manufacturing experience.
- Proven exceptional knowledge of conveying systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe operation and a duty of care towards their team.???????
- Knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work in a high-risk and challenging environment prone to distraction.
- EWP licence.
- Working at heights confirmation of competency.
- Confined space confirmation of competency.
- A commitment to on-going learning and training development.

- Proof of Australian working rights.
- A current high-risk forklift licence.
- Current national police clearance or willing to obtain at own cost (essential).
- Driver's licence.
- Ability to complete a comprehensive pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screening with the company's provider.
