Mechanical Fitter/Machinist - Pump SpecialistOur client is a specialised supplier of process pumps, pumping systems and sealing solutions for many industries including Oil & Gas, Mining, Civil, Industrial, Municipal and Commercial operations. Operating for over 24 years, they have a solid reputation in the industry and are looking for a Mechanical Fitter/Machinist to join the ranks. 

They offer 9 days fortnights and 9.5 hour days, so you can work full time hours while still getting an extra day off to spend as you like. There is also ongoing overtime available if you want to pick it up, and it is paid at penalty rates.

This is a full time permanent position, looking for long term employees.

What your day-to-day will look like:

As a Mechanical Fitter/Machinist, you will be responsible for the repair and assembly of a wide range of pumps, mechanical seals, valves, and other specialised rotating equiipment. 

Your day will start at 6:30am in their Wangara facility, and will finish up around 4pm unless overtime is picked up. 

Duties:

• Disassemble, clean, inspect and measure pumps, mechanical seals, valves, and other equipment
• Assemble, measure, record and test pumps, mechanical seals, valves, and other equipment
• Assemble new or overhauled equipment as per specifications
• Modify and/or machining of components and equipment
• Assembling machined components
• Assembly of close coupled pumps, gearboxes and motors
• Rotating equipment alignment to nominated tolerances using dial indicators or laser equipment
• Assembly of pumps as per supplied IOM
• Adhere and follow safe work practices in performing duties and responsibilities 

What we are looking for:

• Trade qualified– Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Machinist 
• Minimum 2 years post trade experience
• Knowledge of rotating equipment such as centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
• Knowledge of mechanical seals 
• Understanding of bearing fits, tolerances, and applied loads 
• Great problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Proficient in use of measuring tools and interpreting technical drawings
• Willingness to work overtime 
• Current Drivers Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Complete a pre-employment medical, including Drug & Alcohol screening
