About the Role 

We currently have an available position for a Mechanical Modeller within our South Australian office. 

About You 

• The successful applicant will seek to support the growth of business through continuous improvement practices within the organisation. This role would suit an Mechanical Modeller.  
• To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have the following: 
• An Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Drafting or similar. 
• Advanced knowledge of Revit MEP. 
• Experience with Quality Assurance systems and procedures. 
• Fluent knowledge of and ability to implement the requirements and intents of the National Construction Code / Building Code of Australia 
• Understanding and ability to utilise Computer Aided Drafting and Building Information Modelling Software including AutoCAD, REVIT and NavisWorks.  
• Experience with cable sizing / lighting calculation principals and software.  
• Understanding of requirements and intents of the National Construction Code Building Code of Australia. 
• Professional consultation skills, clear and effective verbal and written communications.  
• Excellent problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent communication and people skills. 
• A passion for sustainability, a progressive mindset, and a desire to challenge current practices. 
• Full working rights with no restrictions. 
• Australian citizenship preferred to meet our project requirements such as Defence baseline security clearance. 

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes 

• Acting as the project drafter and design modeller representative on project teams responsible for the delivery of selected projects by Lucid. 
• Design, documentation, correspondence, reporting and consulting tasks associated with projects undertaken by our office.   
• Acting appropriately and with the potential of contributing to the operation and leadership of the office and providing support to the Discipline/Drafting Leaders and Regional/Division Managers.   
• Familiarisation with existing office procedures, design techniques, calculation methods, and design software.  Development of your discipline and ensuring consistency with Lucid’s national standards. 
• Ongoing familiarisation with and use of the BCA, relevant Australian Standards, and all other codes and standards relevant to your field, including research into new design techniques using industry publications and technical manuals in order to understand and achieve world’s best practise for projects with which we are involved. 
• Working in teams with our clients, other engineers and staff, and taking direction from the Regional/Division/Drafting Manager and other Project Team Leaders in order to ensure the smooth delivery of project requirements. 
• Training and supervision of graduate drafters/modellers, graduate engineers, assisting with projects, under your direction.
