The Role:
As a Technical Officer – Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of high-pressure transmission pipeline systems and supporting infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include surveillance activities, operating, monitoring and maintaining Gas Pipelines along with problem-solving, and participating in upgrades and modifications of plant and systems as required. This position is a permanent, full time job and offers plenty of perks and overtime.
Key Accountabilities:
- Plan and implement routine and unscheduled maintenance of pipeline systems and associated plant.
- Conduct technical analysis and evaluations, recommending modifications and improvements.
- Co-ordinate and undertake scheduled and unscheduled pipeline/asset surveillance.
- Preventative maintenance and routine servicing to gas pipeline asset.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, liaising with relevant personnel.
Essential Criteria:
- Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent experience in transmission Gas Pipelines.
- Knowledge of Gas Transmission / Distribution Systems (An advantage).
- Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation (An advantage).
- Competence in confined space and hazard awareness (An advantage).
- Good computer literacy skills and the ability to competently use relevant computer applications to analyse data and records.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical plant problems.
- Attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
- A high degree of self motivation.
- Ability to work remotely
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to travel across the NT on a regular basis with frequent travel.

- Vehicle, Tools and PPE provided
- Accommodation provided and daily meal allowance as required
- Current manual drivers licence. A work car will be provided.
- Required to travel extensively.
- Be available for on-call work and regular overtime.
- Ability to work autonomously and in remote locations.
