The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Technician to join our Operations team in Darwin or Katherine NT, on a full time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Regional Manager Darwin, you will play a key role in providing safe and efficient operation of process control and mechanical maintenance of high-pressure transmission pipeline systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain pipeline and associated facilities (including equipment, stations, bases, grounds, vehicles & workshop) to reliably deliver energy for our customers.
- Contribute to the safe culture of the APA Group, looking out for your colleagues, our community, environment and yourself in accordance with APA's HSE procedures.
- Knowledge of Right of Way Maintenance for pipeline structures.
- Third Party Awareness and Landowner Relations - assist and communicate as required.
- Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System to plan and record all the maintenance activities.
- Mechanical trade or equivalent work experience in a relevant industry.
- Experience in operation and maintenance within heavy industrial environment.
- Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation an advantage.
- Current manual driver's licence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE principles and commitment to safety.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team.
- Adaptability to changing priorities to maintain operations.
- Able to work autonomously and in remote locations.
- Able to work on call and attend to overtime as required.
