About the Role
We are on the lookout for an expert in media and communications to join our Communications Team. In this role you will manage City of Ryde's reputation, and develop and implement media and communication strategies, foster partnerships with key organisational leaders and media professionals, and produce engaging content for traditional and new media.
Applying your proven experience working in a similar role, you will work well independently with a supportive and progressive team.
Key requirements:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field and/or significant demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- Extensive experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of communications and media strategies
- Extensive experience providing advice at a senior and political level on media strategy
- Demonstrated experience in recognising issues and developing strategies to mitigate / manage risk and minimise reputational damage to Council
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends in new media and the ability to implement change processes
- Superior interpersonal skills with a track record of building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including management, staff, government agencies and the community
- Covid-19 vaccinated
Your commencing salary will range from $102,000 - $112,000 p.a. + superannuation dependant on skills and experience.
