The Opportunity
The Public and Media Relations team exists to build Woolworths Group’s brand and support its reputation as Australia’s most trusted retailer - creating better experiences for customers, team members and communities for a better tomorrow. The Media and PR Specialist will have clear ownership to manage both proactive and reactive media relations and business partnering with the relevant areas of the Group as required.
Additionally, the role will help the broader team with the day to day press enquiries via the media phone and inbox, social media community management and issues management as required

What you'll do
Supporting the the development and delivery of communications plans to support and positively promote Woolworths Group initiatives.
Develop and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders positively influencing business decisions to maximise community trust and enhance our reputation
Outlining and explaining Woolworths Group public positions externally and acting as one of the primary points of contact for media
Developing proactive communications plans to support business goals of Woolworths Group and specific assigned portfolio areas
Closely monitor media, stakeholder and regulatory landscape to identify and share emerging opportunities and risks with key stakeholders
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of experience in PR - media, influencer and social media engagement
Ability to develop short, medium and long term communications plans in support of business initiatives or in response to issues
Exceptional relationship-building capabilities, managing stakeholders and agency
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
Experience in social media content + issues management and an understanding of both a consumer audience and business/industry audience
Good understanding of the Australian media landscape at a national, state and regional level
