Triple Zero Victoria (formally Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority) was established in 2023. Triple Zero Victoria provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES.

The Media and Stakeholder Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing the public image and reputation of Triple Zero Victoria.
This role involves a dynamic blend of issues management, and proactive story telling. Working as part of a small team reporting to the Senior Strategic Advisor, Media and Stakeholder Relations, the Specialist will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with media outlets and key stakeholders, delivering on identified proactive communication opportunities, while effectively responding to and managing reactive Media and Stakeholder matters, often in situations with very constrained timelines.
The Specialist works with Triple Zero Victoria team members of all levels and functions in order to successfully acquit the responsibilities of the role, and will use their advanced communication and collaboration skills to sustain internal relationships while “getting the job done”.
This role is primarily located in Burwood East, however flexible work arrangements are available including the option to work from the Williams Landing office location.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Identify, develop and implement responsive strategic advice and strategies on priority projects and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyse the internal and external environment for emerging or possible issues which may affect 000VIC’s reputation, providing 000VIC leaders with strategic communications plans.
- Develop, build and maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders on key initiatives and issues.
- Independently lead, plan and manage identified public and media events to raise Triple Zero awareness and 000VIC's profile within the community and among stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, operational leaders, and other stakeholders, leveraging opportunities that support 000VIC’s operational and strategic priorities.
As a Media and StakeholdersRelations Specialist, you will need to be resilient and demonstrate agility in day to day activities. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field or equivalent industry experience is essential.
Additionally, it is also anticipated you will bring:
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage issues with an ability to work to a high standard with limited supervision; a self-starting; proactive mindset.
- Strong understanding of the public sector and emergency services sector environment and its unique communication challenges
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, preferably with government or statutory organisations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
