A rare opportunity has come up to join our Corporate Affairs team as a Media Relations Manager.
We are looking for an experienced and energetic media specialist with a strategic mind and creative spirit. Immerse yourself in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, where you are charged with proactively developing and implementing strategic communications plans supporting the firm’s strategy and business objectives.
Advising our business leaders, making sure the firm has an active voice on key topics, managing issues, building Media Relationships and supporting their work - no two days are ever the same.
The ideal candidate will be a strong and confident communicator with excellent people skills, who will be able to facilitate all aspects of Media Relations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Identifying media opportunities for your internal clients and positioning them as preferred business commentators and subject matter experts.
- Proactively pitching stories for print, online and/or broadcast media that support KPMG’s business objectives.
- Building relationships with journalists on behalf of KPMG
- Advising and supporting business leaders on media, including media training and reputation management.
- Actively monitoring the news and identifying issues, while managing any negative or sensitive matters.
Key skills and experience:
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Prior experience as a media advisor or Media Relations role, preferably with a background in business and/or politics.
- Solid network of Media Relationships
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- A deep understanding of how the media and business landscapes operate.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team.
- Ability to decipher complex information and deliver clear messaging.
