Requisition ID: REQ479935Temporary Maternity Leave PositionThe Prince of Wales Hospital is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Manager who can effectively manage the complex Medical Imaging & Nuclear Medicine departments in collaboration with multi-disciplinary leadership team.The Medical Imaging & Nuclear Medicine Departments at Prince of Wales Hospital offers an extensive service to patients requiring diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Neuro Radiology (INR) procedures. As well as patients of Prince of Wales Hospital, MID & Nuclear Medicine also services patients from the co-located Sydney Children's Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, with the ability to develop strategies and provide direction and support to staff. The Nurse Manager will work closely with the Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Educators across both services. The Nurse Manager will be actively engaged in the Prince of Wales hospital and Community Health Services (POWH), and Local Health District (LHD) governance structures, strategic planning and initiatives at both professional and operational levels as a key member of the MID Executive.In collaboration with the Co-Director, Nursing and Operations (Neurosciences, Cancer Services and Rehabilitation), the Nurse Manager will be responsible for the management of the nursing and associated support workforce within the MID and Nuclear Medicine Department. This includes recruitment and retention of staff, succession planning, professional learning and development and the effective utilisation of nursing and associated support workforce resources in line with skill mix and models of care.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. - Registered Nurse who holds current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Recognised tertiary management qualifications or working towards same, and evidence of recent professional development to further enhance leadership and management competencies
- Demonstrated experience in the application of change management principles and achievement of measurable outcomes
- Recent broad clinical, operational experience at a senior level with an ability to function as part of a senior management team working successfully with other professional and disciplines in the management of Medical Imaging services
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written and negotiation skills with an aptitude to utilize relevant information technology platforms and ability to provide clear and concise plans and reports
- Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and incorporate where appropriate emerging trends within the profession of nursing
- Evidence of experience in financial management and ability to assist lead financial strategies
- Sound knowledge of current clinical practice, its delivery and models of care and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff to achieve service and professional goals
