About the role
An opportunity has become available for a Full Time Scientific Officer within our Core Laboratory at our Adelaide Airport Facility.
Your role will be to participate in the day to day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated Biochemistry / Haematology team. Duties include general Biochemistry and Haematology work, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self-motivated, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum.
- Relevant experience and qualification in specialised discipline – Biochemistry and Haematology.
- Thorough understanding of internal and external quality control principles and practice
- Film morphology experience desirable.
- High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills.
- The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services.
- Have own transport and be available to participate in a rotating roster that includes evenings and weekends.
