About Us
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.
About the Role
Work within a team of marine scientists to contribute to marine science programs or projects which may include working on small vessels and occasional duties underwater using SCUBA.
The successful candidate will be required to provide support to the marine science team in the assessment of development applications, licence management and enquiries from the public on marine science related equiries. They will also assist, and at times lead, the design, implementation, analysis and publication of marine science projects that investigate the presence or impact from pollution in the marine environment.

Essential Qualification
- A degree in Science or Environmental Science with a major in marine biology or similar
- A Coxswains certificate or the ability to obtain one
- Open water SCUBA certification and current medical clearance to dive
Remuneration
PO2 ($86,950 - $96,233 per annum) + 11% superannuation paid to your choice of super fund.
