NSW Health Pathology are seeking an enthusiastic hard working Medical Laboratory Scientist in located within the Prince of Wales Hospital, in a permanent full time capacity.
NSWHP Randwick is located within the Prince of Wales hospital with public transport available direct to the hospital by bus or light rail from Central Station and is close proximity to many cafes/ restaurants and UNSW which has gym, library and a swimming pool.

- Bachelor Degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to Haematology from a recognised tertiary institution
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pathology services relevant to the Haematology laboratory.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of Laboratory Information Systems, Quality Control Systems and Middleware.
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills with good oral and written communication skills including communicating effectively, report writing, presentations, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 shift roster which includes out-of-hours, weekends and on-call.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner in a team environment and independently while working to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply principles, investigate and resolve complex issues within the laboratory environment.
- Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety, privacy and quality management requirements

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
All NSW Health workers are required to have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as defined by NSW Health. Employees working in a clinical area or are required to attend clinical areas are considered category A. Category A positions are required to provide evidence of having received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (TGA) and meet the requirements of the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
