You will have a demonstrated ability to provide the highest quality medical services within a multidisciplinary Health Services team comprising of doctors, nurses and specialist service providers. About the Role
Our Health Services team provide primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team will work closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that: treat and prevent communicable disease, and proactively treat chronic disease; educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices; assist with reintegration back into the community and provide continuity of care; and address the diverse needs of the custodial patient population, including men, women and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples through specific tailoring.
To help us make a difference, you will have:
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), (desirable not essential)
- Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), (desirable not essential)
- Both vocational registration and non-vocational registration will be considered
- 2 years previous full-time post graduate general practitioner experience (or part-time equivalent) as determined by RACGP and ACRRM
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Strong direct and in-direct people-management abilities
- First class communication skills and able to operate at a Senior Management level
- Self-management, motivation and resilience abilities as this position will mainly work autonomously
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and externally with a range of personnel
- Cultural awareness including understanding the impact and management and working with people of different ethnic backgrounds, customs and contemporary issues
