Whitehorse Medical Centre is a privately owned, multi-disciplinary, private billing, accredited general practice located on Whitehorse Road in Mitcham, Victoria.
We have an exciting opportunity for a confident, self-motivated person to join the admin team at Whitehorse Medical Centre. The position of Medical Receptionist offers applicants the chance to work with a friendly and hardworking team in a safe, secure, well-established long-term position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional service, meeting and greeting patients attending the clinic
- Managing bookings, scheduling appointments, and processing patient accounts, including Medicare billings
- Managing all incoming patient and other stakeholder phone calls, emails and faxes.
- Opening and closing of the clinic
Our ideal candidate:
- Has knowledge of Best Practice software (highly advantageous but not required)
- Enjoys a front-line role and takes pride in their customer service skills
- Able to provide cover for other team members, with flexibility to work extra hours if required
- Confident, friendly and reliable
- Able to work within a small team as well as independently.
- Experience in healthcare administration is an advantage but not a prerequisite

The role is part time and the centre is open Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 7:00 pm) and Saturdays (08:30 am – 1:00 pm). We will negotiate your working schedule with you to best suite your requirements as well as the centre’s.
