The UniSA Health Medical Clinics were established to provide exceptional medical care to the UniSA community and general public.
With clinics located in the heart of the vibrant Adelaide CBD, at our City East and City West campus and our brand new medical and allied health practice co-located with the new ACH Healthia in Elizabeth, across the road from the Lyell McEwin Hospital.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Medical Receptionist to join our team with the ability to potentially work across all locations.
An integral part of the Practice team, the Medical Receptionist provides the highest possible level of patient care and support to the Doctors, Practice Manager and other members of the clinic team.
Key responsibilities
- Represent the practice in a confident and positive manner, including being well-presented, friendly, courteous, and obliging.
- Provide excellence customer service and patient centred care
- Ensure efficient and confidential management of all records
- Manage the appointment system, patient billing and enquiries
- Provide clerical & administrative support to doctors and the practice manager
- Uphold the cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic
- Ensure that all aspects of the role are carried out with confidentiality as a paramount consideration
- Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to maximise team performance.
- Build positive professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors & stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
- Experience in a General Practice administration/reception preferred but not essential
- Effective and efficient communication skills in telephone and face to face contact including the capacity to communicate in an empathetic manner
- Excellent time management skills and ability to undertake and prioritise multiple tasks accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to patient health information
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people and cultures.
- Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs.
- Ability to work a flexible roster within the opening hours of the clinic Mon-Fri 7.30am – 7pm including covering sick leave at short notice.
Desirable
- Confidence using Best Practice PMS
- Experience with OSHC billing
- Experience working in a university setting
- Multi-lingual
