The Medical Sales Specialist achieves sales targets and drives continuous growth by establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities with existing customers and identifying and securing new customers. This role manages the Advanced Wound Care Portfolio for Qld Hospitals covering a designated territory.

Key Responsibilities

1) Achieving business results (Sales, Market Share)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain account management plans/business opportunties to drive growth strategies for key accounts as directed

  • Create customer awareness, recommending product types and arranging and participating with product demonstrations

  • Ability to articulate complex product and technical knowledge / product education to both customers and fellow colleagues for the advanced wound care portfolio.

  • Business to business representation at key local events

  • Ability to review and analyze sales reports, results, monitor sales achievements and identify opportunities and risks to the business

  • Complete and submit all reports (sales, CRM, and expenses etc) within the time requested by manager

2) Model accountability and commitment to our customers and our colleagues through teamwork

  • Desire for continual learning in our product range, our competitors’ products and keeping abreast of current standards of care in the marketplace

  • Stay informed and keep the company informed of Convatec’s market position and other business Unit opportunities as they arise

  • Aligns and actively contributes to the Convatec culture by fostering and demonstrating Values and Behaviours in all areas of work

3) Execute sales and marketing strategies to achieve business results

  • Takes the broader state and national business perspective into account when making decisions.

4) Cultivates Strong Business Relationships

  • Establishes close relationships with external customers and utilises those relationships to strengthen a competitive position and performance including Key Opinion leaders (KOLs)

Key Requirements The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified (Nursing or another Science field) and will have gained Medical Sales experience in either pharmaceuticals or medical devices.

They should be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills in:

  • Sales, Product, and competitor knowledge in Wound Care (preferred)

  • Contract, pricing and tender level negotiation

  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities

  • Strong Communication skills – oral, written and presentation

  • Ability to identify and articulate sales opportunities and risks

  • Ability to develop and implement Key Account plans and strategies to achieve sales objectives

  • Comprehensive business knowledge inc Key Account management

  • Strong Team player / motivator for the QLD Team

  • Proficient (Intermediate) in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
