Medical Scientist - Histology Department

About The Role:

• Performance of specimen reception and accessioning duties within histology/cytology 
• Cut-up, embedding and microtomy of tissue specimens
• Routine and special staining of slides including immunochemistry
• Allocation of slides to pathologists

Selection Criteria:

1. A degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a equivalent degree with relevant laboratory experience. 
2. Ability to act independently and within established guidelines, demonstrating professionalism,  initiative, flexibility and sound judgement
3. A keen eye for detail and exceptional accuracy in data transfer operations
4. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an understanding of quality control and quality assurance
5. Must hold a current Australian drivers licence
6. Must be able to live and work in Australia at the time of application
