The role:

  • Contribute to the provision of effective pathology services.
  • Under general guidance from the Scientist in Charge, perform professional work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.
  • Perform normal professional work and complex or critical laboratory work under professional supervision.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working in a Haematology laboratory. Your application and statement in support of the selection criteria should clearly describe your experience quoting relevant examples.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift-worker position working 61 hours per fortnight, commencing from 17 June 2024 until 14 April 2025

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $71,441 - 107,878 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science or Applied Science or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution

  2. Eligible for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, The Australian Society for Microbiology, Human Genetics Society of Australasia or the Australian Society of Cytology

  3. Where these is no relevant professional body, the essential qualification must be met

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
