Job description

The Role:

As a member of a professional team within Pathology South, the Medical Scientist - Immunohistochemistry:

  • Provides an efficient and high quality specialised immunohistochemical and histopathology related molecular biological procedures service.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the Immunohistology Laboratory within Pathology services, Royal Hobart Hospital.
  • Works independently under the general guidance of the Medical Scientist in Charge - Histopathology to solve more complex technical problems as they arise during the routine operation of the unit.

  • Work outside of normal hours may be required

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing March 2024

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary:

$106,966 - $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement

Eligibility:

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution
