Bathurst Panthers are seeking a passionate and experienced Meetings & Events Manager to lead and develop and events team.
Overseeing the meetings and events team, the role entails being responsible for driving revenue, implementing successful strategic plans and achieving specific targets. The role will involve coordinating a wide range of meetings and events including conferences, presentations, weddings and dinners. Your fantastic customer service, sales and leadership skills will enable you to satisfy a wide range of clientele and secure bookings. As part of the management team at Bathurst Panthers, you will also be required to perform Duty Management and Operational duties to assist with the overall running of the Club.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Formulating, implementing and reviewing the Meeting and Events department’s strategic plans in line with business objectives;
Maximising sales, sourcing new business and promoting Panthers facilities to our customers and potential future clients;
Coordination with different departments to ensure the event runs smoothly and meets customer expectations;
Providing leadership, support and guidance to the operational team to ensure high levels of customer service and the success of each event;
Achieve set financial targets instigating actions and remedial to maximise financial performance;
Oversee all event related services and standards and maintaining total authority and responsibility for the events held;
Duty Management duties to ensure the Club is running smoothly and efficiently;
Developing and maintaining positive client relationships to encourage repeat business and a promote a positive brand image and;
Menu planning, costing and stock management.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 3 years’ experience in a direct sales and event management role;
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite;
Experience in managing and driving a sales team to meet set targets and goals;
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills;
Excellent demonstration of professionalism through both your presentation and knowledge;
Strong attention to detail and high level of organisational skills and;
Event Management or related Tertiary or Degree qualifications would be desirable.
