The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving meetings & Events business growth and revenue generation through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing client relationships at Royal Randwick (RR), Rosehill Gardens (RG) and other ATC venues.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the meetings and events market.
DAY TO DAY, THE ROLE WILL:
- Identify and pursue new meetings and events business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by effectively managing and nurturing client relationships.
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Articulate the value proposition of our meetings and events services and solutions to effectively differentiate us from competitors.
- Negotiate terms and pricing agreements in collaboration with senior management, ensuring win-win outcomes for both clients.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on Business Development activities, achievements, and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations and finance to ensure alignments and support for Business Development initiatives.
To be successful in the role, the right candidate will possess:
- Experience in new business generation via telemarketing marketing and sales initiatives to increase corporate events acquisition.
- Demonstrated skills in identifying and winning new accounts and developing and/or retaining existing accounts.
- Experience in account management role which involves identifying and assessing leads and business opportunities and securing profitable transactions.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities, and develop effective business strategies.
- Sound understanding of the process of developing new and innovative meetings and events offerings from concept, design, pricing, market analysis through to execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated sales success in meeting and/or exceeding revenue targets and KPI’s.
- Demonstrated experience working in commercial venues within the events, entertainment, tourism and/or leisure and recreation industry.
- Understanding of Government policy, direction, regulation and objectives particularly in relation to racing.
