The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (the TIO) offers a free and independent service for resolving complaints about telephone or internet services.
The TIO’s purpose is to provide an effective and efficient dispute resolution service for the telecommunications industry that complies with the Benchmarks for Industry based customer dispute resolution schemes.

Calling all Events Interns!
We have an exciting 12 month part time opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support and learn the end-to-end coordination and delivery of TIO’s national events.
The Member, Events and Outreach Assistant reports to the Member and Outreach Events Advisor and assists in the delivery of member, outreach and community services. The role assists with initiatives that contribute to the continuous improvement of the TlO's service delivery and raising awareness and accessibility of services.
This role assists with Member and community event planning and delivery, while assisting and learning with the administration for internal and external events, in person or online.
This part time role is a great opportunity for individuals studying events or outreach management.
Responsibilities
As part of this role some of the responsibilities you will have include:
Assisting in planning, support, delivery, and coordination of events and activities that raise accessibility and awareness of our services with members and the community
Assistance with creating and ordering merchandise
Stocktake management
Assistance in social media content
Calendar and project maintenance for events
Assistance in organizing couriers for merch delivery, flights and accommodation bookings.
This position may be required to attend some Outreach events interstate.
This position requires you to undertake other duties and project-related work as required and as directed.
Experience and Skills
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is:
Highly organized
Has well-developed interpersonal skills
Proficient in the Microsoft suite
Excellent at Identifying, building, and developing productive relationships with all stakeholders.
Able to think laterally and applies innovative thinking to address complex problems.
Excellent at communicating clearly and effectively and at all levels within an organization.
Professional, resilient, and has a strong work ethic and is also respectful to others with a commitment to TIO’s Purpose and Values
Studying towards or has a background in Outreach or Events.
