Position Description: The APS6 Project Officer plays a pivotal role and accountable for undertaking complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.
K ey Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project plans and schedules in alignment with the Agency's project management framework.
Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders, contributing to informed decision-making.
Conduct independent research and analysis, preparing draft reports on relevant project activities to inform strategic initiatives.
Coordinate regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports, to ensure transparency and accountability.
Prepare draft written material, including business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation, adhering to organizational standards.
Monitor project budgets, review and report on expenditure, and assist with procurement and contract management processes.
Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits, implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Contribute to project quality management, ensuring deliverables are fit for purpose and meet the needs of clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in a relevant field (e.g., project management, public administration, social sciences).
Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably within a government or similar environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build effective relationships.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Knowledge of legislation, policies, and frameworks relevant to disability services and/or government operations is desirable.
