Job description

Rec Alley dominates Macarthur in the Gymnastics Space

Rec Alley opened its doors in March 2017 with a mission to get children in South-West Sydney active and healthy through quality gymnastics programming. Between our three clubs, Rec Alley Gregory Hills, Rec Alley Minto, and Rec Alley Oran Park, there is a growing community of Rec Alley gymnasts and families.

Rec Alley classes include kinder gym (from six weeks of age), recreational gymnastics, levels, parkour, trickers (acro), tumbling, and much more. Going beyond gymnastics, Rec Alley encourages healthy living and great behaviours, through designing programs that cover areas such as anti-bullying, diversity and inclusion, socialising and much more.

Rec Alley is working hard with the aim to provide ‘exceptional service’, not just good service. In order to understand our service well, you should know why we are different. Below are a few key points;

  • Rec Alley is on track to achieve over 4,000 individual members throughout 2023, with a strong community who choose Rec Alley as their local gymnastics provider
  • Rec Alley is one of the largest providers of gymnastics in the country, and now, the largest club in NSW
  • Rec Alley provides, inclusive, attainable, and quality gymnastics programming without the requirement to attend competitions (this is by choice only)
  • We have an open-door policy. You will find it can be common for clubs to not permit parents to watch the service. Rec Alley has a full commitment to deliver a ‘Child Safe Environment’
  • We are a developmental club that can initiate positive lifelong habits. We are not aiming to compete with clubs who are driven by competition results. There is much more to gymnastics than simply results
  • Gymnastics fundamentals is merely the tool to tackle the health and well-being challenges facing young people today, and providing them with transferrable skills for any sport
  • Rec Alley has classes for six weeks, through to teens, supporting each step of a child's development
  • Although Rec Alley has highly experienced coaches, we generally employ and develop people, not necessarily gymnasts. We find the most diverse, and best suitable people and develop amazing coaches
  • Rec Alley now boasts over 70 employees, and is days away from opening its first ‘Kids Club’ service in the Oran Park Podium
  • The last member survey indicates that for 70% of participants, Rec Alley is their first club. Rec Alley focuses on creating a positive experience to all new participants and their families
  • Rec Alley has its own member App suitable for Apple and Android
  • Rec Alley has three clubs in the Macarthur region, and is expected to grow further in 2024, providing the local community with a number of facilities to meet differing programming needs

The opportunity

We are looking for a vibrant, customer-centric, and energetic individual to take on our Membership Services Officer role. This exciting new position will allow you to work closely with our growing Rec Alley community to support administrative and retention processes and strategies, while optimising digital assets and platforms.

Although similar experience will be advantageous, applicants without qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply. We look for, above all else, passion and energy in finding the best individuals who can remain agile and can develop and support this position’s objectives.

This busy role will see you:

  • Utilise the CRM systems and other platforms to improve and execute member retention and loyalty strategies – Including supporting prospective, and active members through the member journey process
  • Liaise with cancelled members and the management group to always improve our member experience
  • Support member engagement activities and events
  • Ensure new members are supported and onboarded with a high level of service
  • Have multiple communication touch points and dialog with members to ensure we commit to ‘service excellence’
  • Provide support and deliver on our Rec Alley ‘Service Plan’
  • Support business strategies and objectives specific to the position which may include training and developing others

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills both face to face and over the phone
  • Reasonable digital marketing or computer skills
  • Current WWCC and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

It is our responsibility to not only provide a gymnastics service, but to provide a unique customer experience. This exciting position is expected to evolve over time and be critical for improving ongoing service delivery.

Rec Alley staff enjoy flexibility

Regardless, if it’s school, family, day jobs, study, or other commitments, Rec Alley staff enjoy flexibility, a great work environment, and opportunities to progress.

This position is negotiable for casual, or permanent employment depending on what suits the applicant’s situation. As mentioned, at Rec Alley we work with your availabilities and other commitments.

This would also suit those wanting to further their career and develop with opportunities a growing business can offer. For the right person, there may be opportunities to also take up other roles within the club’s as well.
