About the role
Working in within a strong partnership with Cyrenian House, this position reports clinically to the Practice Lead and operationally to the Manager of the Nannup Therapeutic community. This role works in a 3 bed Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol low medical withdrawal unit alongside General Practitioners and other specialists to provide a comprehensive low-medical withdrawal service, and link patients with community service organisations, provide a stepped care service and respond to complex needs.
Your other main responsibilities will include:
- Medication management and administration. Specifically related to low medical withdrawal management
- Establish and develop a therapeutic relationship with the patients
- Complete assessments including K10+PWI, CANSAS P and relevant alcohol and other drug assessment tools)
- Undertake practice in accordance with MH/AOD clinical protocols in the unit
- Works in accordance with the recovery framework principles
- Maintains clinical documentation on matters relating to client cases
This role casual and is based in Nannup.
About you
Essential Qualifications
A Nursing qualification with registration under the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (APHRA).
A comprehensive understanding of supporting individuals experiencing mental distress and substance-related disorders.
Current National Police Clearance that is no older than 6 months.
A valid First Aid certificate.
Desirable Qualifications
Additional qualifications specific to Mental Health.
In-depth knowledge of alcohol and other drug withdrawal syndromes.
Skills and Attitude
Excellent assessment skills and the capability to develop and review care plans based on assessed needs.
Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with General Practitioners and other healthcare specialists.
Demonstrated commitment to integrating recovery principles in consumer support.
A proactive individual enthusiastic about upholding Richmond Wellbeing's values and principles.
Additional Requirements
A current driver’s license.
