About Chorus
Chorus is a WA-based organisation with close to 1000 team members and volunteers who support seniors, people on the Mental Health Recovery journey, and those living with a disability. Our purpose is to enable people to live the life they choose at home and in the community. We’ve designed a structure that focuses less on management and hierarchy and more on the things that matter - relationships, customers, and communities! Our network of small local teams enables Chorus people to be more connected to each other and feel a sense of belonging.
About the role
We are currently looking for a Mental Health Recovery worker to join our team. The purpose of this role is to support our customers living with mental illness and helping them to live the life they choose! This role is based in Bunbury and surrounding areas. You will work alongside customers with varying support needs to provide tailored person-centered services and activities of their choice.
This is what you will need:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant qualifications;
  • Relevant experience in Mental Health community support;
  • NDIS experience;
  • A proven capacity to deal with challenging issues;
  • A genuine commitment with demonstrated skills and knowledge working with people experiencing mental illness;
  • Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem solving abilities, compassion, empathy and professionalism;
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and adaptable within role boundaries;
  • Understanding of the person-centred approach;
  • Confidentiality and diversity awareness;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently comfortably;
  • Effective listening skills and ability to share practical information in an appropriate and respectful manner;
  • A safety first approach for yourself and the client;
  • Strong administrative skills (Microsoft packages, word processing, email and internet).
  • Current National Police Clearance with 6 months or less currency or willingness to apply for and provide one prior to commencing employment;
  • Current Working with Children Check Card;
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence with no restrictions;
  • A roadworthy vehicle that can be used to transport clients;
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
