About the role: As a Senior Clinician with us, you will get to provide practical support and guidance to participants who drop into Safe Haven hub and support a team comprising a clinician, case worker and peer workers.
The Buttery’s Safe Havens provide a safe space for the community to walk in and connect with a team of people in a comfortable and approachable environment. Based in Lismore, Woodburn, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah, we offer support and connection and someone to talk to. To ensure they receive follow-up support, participants will be offered information or a link with psychological, psychosocial and other community supports, depending on their needs. Safe Haven hubs aim to:
- Provide immediate, personalised and compassionate care
- Connect people to support services to address the underlying factors in their distress
- Reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments
- Reduce self-harm, suicide attempts and deaths by suicide.
Hours and location: Safe Havens are open from 12-6pm seven days a week so capacity to work some weekends is required. The role is 35 hours per week and worked over 5 days with time for paperwork and training when havens are not open to the public. The role is based in Woodburn.
About you: Selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualification at university level in Counselling, Nursing, Social Work or Psychology and registered with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A current Driver's Licence is required. A COVID vaccination, satisfactory current Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check is mandatory prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of Mental Health and/or suicide prevention support services in a community setting.
- Experience managing staff in a small team environment
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking risk assessments and managing crisis situations
- Experience in providing counselling and case management support to individuals from a trauma-informed approach.
- Familiarity with a range of referral services across the local community
- Capacity to work some shifts on weekends as the hubs are open 12-6 for seven days a week.

This role is remunerated at SCHCDS level 5:3 ($49.65ph), This is a 101k package including superannuation and leave loading with access to NFP salary packaging to increase your take home pay by up to 5k. The role is funded to June 2024 with potential for extension.
