- The Senior Mental Health Clinician provides expert clinical advice to consumers, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for consumers with complex health needs
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

- CNC1 - Minimum 5 years fulltime equivalent post registration experience and also post registration nursing qualification relevant to the field or such other qualification or experience deemed appropriate; Current registration with AHPRA
- Senior Psychologist - Four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology; or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Additionally applicant will have completed a minimum of one year at the 9th year of service as a Psychologist; Current registration with AHPRA
- Occupational Therapist - Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy;Current registration with AHPRA
- Social Worker - Tertiary qualifications in Social Work; Eligible for membership of AASW
- Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and comprehensive understanding of contemporary Mental Health issues affecting older people, including high level Mental Health interventions and services available to people with severe Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Highly-developed communication, teaching and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively develop relationships with consumers, carers, and key service partners.
- Extensive knowledge of good clinical practice, policies and procedure.
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant speciality.
- Computer skills including word processing, presentation, spread sheet applications and clinical information systems.
- Current NSW Driver’s License or ability to travel for work purposes.
