About the Role
We are currently seeking a talented and engaging Mental Health Specialist. The successful candidate is responsible for designing, implementing and leading DXC Integrated Services Mental Injury program to improve the capability of DXC Integrated Services employees, employers and treating health practitioners to support workers with mental injuries to successfully return to work.
Working in partnership across the organisation, employers and key stakeholders including Worksafe, the successful candidate will apply their advanced experience and qualifications in a mental health background to deliver innovative and effective strategies to achieve optimal outcomes for injured workers and employers.
This is a key role within DXC Integrated Services and is responsible for developing and driving the Mental Injury strategy for the business and ensuring that DXC Integrated Services is providing leadership and innovation within the Workers Compensation Scheme. Rather than individual case management, the successful candidate will be able to utilise their skills, training and stakeholder management skills without the stress of ensuring your hours are “billable”.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Facilitating claims assessments, risk reviews, development of plans and strategies to define barriers and capacities, and providing additional support to internal staff, external clients and healthcare professionals
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating programs which are designed to meet individual needs
- Supporting case managers on return-to-work performance for Mental Injury claims
- Participating in treating health practitioner case conferences and assist with the implementation of claims management strategies
- Coaching and development of claims staff to improve capability and to create a positive and psychologically healthy workplace
- Base level claims work in addition to project opportunities which are self-driven and self-structured (e.g. Developing and facilitating internal training, collaborating with external providers, etc.)
About You
Required Skills & Experience
- Education and experience in a relevant Allied Health profession (e.g. Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Counselling, Social Work.)
- Skills and resilience to engage effective crisis intervention strategies (off-site training available, if required).
- Knowledge of psychopathology, including common DSM-V diagnoses and the forms of treatment applicable to workplace mental injuries.
- The ability to communicate with stakeholders to develop effective case management strategies.
- Effective written communication and record-keeping skills.
- Initiative and an innovative approach to managing Mental Injuries.
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
- Well-developed problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to collaborate and advocate.
- Strong customer service ethic.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in supporting work-related injury recovery or other workplace mental health initiatives.
- Experience in preparing and attending claims reviews and clinical case conferences to effectively support outcomes.
- Leadership and team management experience, particularly coaching, motivating and mentoring staff to be successful in their role.
