ABOUT THE ROLEWe have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Buyer to join us, who will be responsible for managing the product lifecycles, competitive prices, product placement and promotional tactics to maximise sell-through and achieve targets.
We are searching for a superstar candidate who is customer-focused, with demonstrated experience and the ability to drive innovation across our Product Management team.

The role will see you;- Bring strong product knowledge of PC hardware or gaming gear
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and adapt to the dynamic market
- Develop and retain a strong working relationship with existing vendors and suppliers
- Seek out opportunities with non-trading vendors to maximise sales and branding awareness
- Order and forecast stock, manage inventory and aged stock
- Manage competitive price strategies and maximise website conversion
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives with our marketing team
- Manage goods profitability through the sales GP and various rebate programs
- Proactively work with our corporate and CS team to drive opportunities
- Conduct product training with internal business units
- Conduct monthly reports to update the company on the Laptops and Monitors category including, successes and challenges
- Acquire and maintain vendor Sales Certifications where required
- Follow Mwave strategy plans and other business tactics as required
- Always present a professional image to our internal and external stakeholders
- Attend Reseller and Vendor social and training events (sometimes out of regular working hours)
- Achieve KPIs as set by the Head of Product Management
Knowledge & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business Administration or similar
- 3- 5 years relevant Local industry experience in Technology and E-commerce industry
- 3-5 years Tech/IT Product/Category management experience
- Genuine PC enthusiast or a strong interest in Information & Technology
Skills
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability to manage a large range of stakeholders
- Strong commercial sense and business acumen
- High level of initiative and strong solutions focused mindset and approach
- Well-developed negotiation and bargaining skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet the company and customers satisfaction
- Adept communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Be a collaborative individual and team player
- Hold a strong understanding of procedures, including ordering, price updates, promotion settings, etc
- Hold a creative thought process to establish unique marketing activities
- Have proficient financial acumen and the ability to forecast financial budgets as required
